Important Notice
The last training for this year is Dec. 26th(wed). We will have Kagamibiraki (Japanese styled new year party) at dojo on Jan. 9th (wed) at 7 to 9pm. The first training of next year is Jan. 11th (fri).

Announcement
We will have a special judo class for those who will join the Osaka International Goodwill Judo Tournament from overseas. The class is from 3pm to 6pm on Nov. 23rd at Daishin Judo Club. Please join the class if you have time!

Osaka Judo Team Championship was held at the Yao Taiikukan, and many Daishin members participated.

[Men’s team competition]

1st Adam Hoyt (white belt)
2nd Naoto Yasuki (1st dan)
3rd Kenzo Ito (1st dan)
4th Yutaka Moriyama (2nd dan)
5th Yukio Asano (2nd dan)
We won against Sumiyoshi shogyo high school (4-0) in the first round, and lost to Kinki uni high school (0-4) in the second round. Kinki uni high school won the first prize.

[Women’s team competition] 
1st Sabrina Lin (white belt)
2nd Soo Incyong (white belt)
3rd Shiho Hayashi (2nd dan)
We won against Shobukan (2-1) in the first round, and lost to Jyuugoukan (1-2) in the second round. As a result, we won the 3rd prize.(photo) Jyuugoukai won the first prize.

Sep. 22
Osaka East district Judo Tournament was held at the Kodokan Osaka, and many Daishin members participated.

Kaito Okumura won the third prize in the 5th grade elementary school category (photo), and Shiho Hayashi won the second prize in the women’s category.

We got a first-round bye, and we lost to Uenomiya high school (4-0) in the semifinals. Uenomiya high school won the first prize.

Aug. 26
The 57th Osaka Jyusei Judo Team Championship Tournament was held at Osaka Jyusei Hall. Daishin Judo Team (1st prize last year) beated Osaka Kochisho(3-1) and beated Kami Dojo (4-0), but we were defeated by West Japan Judo Seifuku School (1-3) on the final match. We won the 2nd prize this year.

Daishin and KIWI CLUB OSAKA members went to Australia from Aug 11th to 15th to join the Daishin’s sister judo club, Wonthaggi Sang-Rok Judo Club’s 25th anniversary ceremony and also we gave judo lecture.

Elementary 6th grade category: Ryota Inoue lost in the 1st round and Reo Yamada lost in the 3rd round.
Elementary 5th grade category: Kaito Okumura lost in the 4th round.
As result, Kaito Okumura can play in the original match on the June 24th. Good luck!

We received a report from Alwyn Grabbelaar in Little Dragon Judo Club in South Africa (our sister dojo). The Commonwealth Games was held in Wales in January. South Africa team players won 51 medals in total from the Juniors to the masters, they received 3 Gold, 11 Silver, and the rest Bronze. They entered the biggest team of all the countries there.
