Daishin Judo Club was founded in 1976 and has since trained over 1,000 members. We have classes for young children, elementary students, junior high and high school students, as well as adults. Participants of all levels, ages, and nationalities train together here. The club also has 25 sister dojos across 12 countries around the world.
The founder, Akihiro Matsuura, deeply respected the late Professor Koichi Ebii, former head instructor of the Doshisha University Judo Club, and adopted his calligraphy “JUNDO SEISHO” (meaning “Victory Comes Through Following the Way”) as his personal motto. With the guiding principle “Persistence is Power,” the club emphasizes faithful adherence to the basics of judo, aiming not just for immediate wins, but for an enjoyable and enriching judo experience.
Through judo, we hope our students will cultivate both physical and mental strength, gain international perspective, and someday become instructors capable of sharing judo abroad.
